In an interview on a tv show recently, liquor baron Vijay Mallya made a statement that Indians cannot tolerate other Indians coming up or being successful. They try their best to bring them down. He was asked about the rumour in India that he was bankrupt. He smiled and said that people do not know how much money he has and they just comment without knowing anything about him.

Initially I thought he was overreacting (I think he holds a PR in UK). When I started thinking about it, he is right. For example, majority of the whites don’t care if other whites are doing very well or coming up in life. They just keep to themselves. What is with Indians? Majority are jealous, try their best to create and spread rumours about successful Indians. No wonder the country is still lagging behind.

We live in this world which is also known as "Duniya" or two side even Chinese believe in Yan and Ying. We desi's have our upsides and downsides. Back to comment by Vijay Mallya etc it may be true but if you analyse why this happens? then the root cause is our population and the struggle for your share of resources. Since childhood desi's are conditioned to compete or climb the ladder. Seeing it from another prespective it is a game of elimination whereas in a developed world its a game of encouragement. Having grown up in tough conditions the first generation desi's end up being very successful in overseas settlement / adaption.

There are instances of people envying immigrants from India and china in some parts of the world. So back to the saying CROWs are black where ever you go, or every community has some black sheep. Lets learn to live with them and engage them for the betterment of society. Om shanti om.....
