In most cases yes, but in anycase you can always get the statements validated thru your bank.
I agree with pratickm. Most statements are available 1 to 1/5 years only.
what do most of the forum members do - as it really kinds of builds a lot of paperwork (documentation) over time.
Also wonder what the wider Canadian population do?
i shred/destory it after reviewing both the credit card and bank statements. In the past i have printed e-prints bank/credit card statements for immigration/vistor visa/mortgage pre approval and it has worked without any problems. I keep most recent 5 months statements. You can also view your Previous Tax information at CRA website. However, i have kept all the receipts for tax claims/credits for the past 5 years.
