Hi,
We are a landed immigrant family with two kids. We completed three years in Canada few months back. Our younger kid was born here in Canada. He posses Canadian Passport. Elder kid was around two years when we landed. He is a Permenent resident here. Both our kids are in India now. In fact they have been there in India for the last one year. Myself and wife is planning to apply for Canadian Citizenship soon.
Looking at the timelines of the application processing, we are little worried. What would you suggest, we should include elder kid also along with the application ?
What are the chances that this will delay the processing of our application
( myself and wife).
Or do you think Citizenship and immigration canada will ask us to apply for the kid separately ( say for example from India ) ?
We tried to contact CIC through the 1-888 number, looks like they won't respond to this kind of queries.
Any suggestions ?
With Regards
AdityaAkash
Any child, who is a minor is also included into the Citizenship application process when you both file it together.
The child also gets the Citizenship and the certificate, just because of their presence here in Canada.
Yes, By rights they are also entitled to receive it.
You just follow the normal procedures. Also make sure that the kid is here in Canada before the swearing in Ceremonies and present on that occasion.
Hope everything works well for you.
Freddie.
