We are Indian citizens, and have Permanent Residency here. We were living earlier in USA. After getting immigration, we went back to USA and came back after 3 years. I have a US born daughter (5 year old). We all need to spend 2 years in Canada to apply for renewal of PR card. We have completed 16 months till now.
My question is: If I send my daughter to India now to live with her grand-parents (while she has not completed 2 years of her stay in Canada), can she apply for citizenship when we do after we become eligible for it (i.e. after completing 3 years here).
Thank you.
Children are not subject the condition of being in Canada for 1,095 days. So what you are planning is correct.

There is no pleasure in having nothing to do; The fun is in having lots to do and not doing it.
Thanks a ton for your response.
Now, we all will apply for renewal of our PR cards next year. There, we need to prove that we were in Canada for 2 years (in past 5 years). Do we have to prove for my daughter also that she was here for 2 years? Or can her PR card get renewed without her being here for 2 years?
