Gopal pai - I understand your zeal to help people on CD. You seem to take things personally, instead of being objective. This comes from someone who has spent years with some of the best companies in Canada, in customer service, retentions, quality & technical escalation desk.

I have never said that it would be a bad choice to work in a call center. If you read my post, you'd see that I weighed the pros and cons in an objective manner. I have not been judgmental about the industry - especially because I hold a senior position in one of the top 50 companies in Canada.

Napoleon said that the word "impossible" is only the dictionary of fools. While that may be true, let's face it.......... not every one is cut out for a certain career. You might have the passion to undertake a career, but the only way to succeed is to lean, excel, persevere and never give up. If one doesn't have these qualities, or won't inculcate these, success would be nothing but a mirage.

You wrote about "some law". I don't know how knowledgeable you are, about the call center industry. Fact is, too many people think, it's a cake walk. Believe me - it isn't!. No matter what you perceive, you need to have the basic qualities like great communication skills, good phone skills, great keyboarding and internet skills, and a near neutral accent, to succeed. Even if one gets hired without any of these skills, it's hard to last in the industry. That, unfortunately is the truth.

It is better that, we leave some things to interviewer and interviewee and company. We don't have right to think who is earning how much per month or per year. I feel interviewer knows his job best and knows whom to select, interviewee is intelligent enough to know what he/she is getting into. Our duty is to help and rest homework has to be done by them.

I have rarely seen anybody giving such help maybe few like TK,freddie and blue peafowl. I have often read new immigrant asking for real help and this is how you can really help. if you all know any company/call centre/anybody recruiting just post it on canadiandesi.com.

please do not take anything personally. some post like this, is best without comments. just post the address of recruiters and leave it. As it is, before interview, people are jittery and nervous why write something to make them more nervous. Let them take the address posted and go positively and try for job. when they get into swimming pool, they will learn to swim or there is an option for them to come out of swimming pool.

If anybody wants information about test and interviews and reference of the person working in call centre to get job immdly since there is lots of competition, I shall help you. please pm to me.

just for your information, during the training 5 days also, they are paying you $10 per hour for 5 days and first 3 months probation also, they are paying $10 and after probation it is $11.5 per hour. If you work for more than 8 hours then overtime is 1.5 times and you can work during weekends for 1.5 times salary + 1 holiday.

I will be able to help you till there is vacancy.

P.S. NOW I KNOW WHY PEOPLE DON'T HELP OUT,BECAUSE SEE THE REPLIES AND TAUNTS ETC RECEIVED BY ME. SOME PEOPLE JUST CANNOT KEEP MUM AND LET GO. THEY CAN'T SEE OTHERS DOING GOOD DEED.

It is great to see you helping newcomers with jobs, however this sounds unlikely. I have been involved in a 'call-centre' environment for several years (first by working in one myself, and now by working in companies who happen to have their own call-centre), and no TL makes 8-10 grand extra a month or even a year. Please advise where this figure is coming from??

the person stays closeby so works two shifts eveyday. he is team leader so gets $ 18 per hour.

8*18 = 144 overtime 8*27 = 216 = 360 per day

360*25 days = $9000 per month.

he is very hardworking and with his reference you can get job easily.

this is my calculations. I never finds anything hard to believe since I also used to work 14-15 hours a day to meet target though mind you nobody gave me 1.5 times salary:( . since managerial level staff never got overtime.

regds
