Why dont you get organised? Here are a list of things that could be done

1) Get organised...call a meeting to rally people who are in the same situation.
2) Elect a few good leaders who have already tried and failed to get jobs according to their expectations(inspite of proven international credentials). These leaders should be eloquent in presenting their cases and have proven international exposure. e.g Chandresh comes to mind.
3) Collect a few example's and document the same to show how these people have been rejected from the job market. Be as objective as possible(no Gulam Rasool type tearjerkers).Put together a press release(tearjerkers may have a place here...be objective.)
4) Its probably getting close to an election season. Take out rallies/marches(with required permission)...on weekends to highlight your problems. Send out your press releases to the press and also ensure coverage of the event. Send out one such release to India...to all the newspapers.
5) Draw a list of demands...including one that calls for a better skilled worker immigration policy...like that of Australia. Demand a revamp of the current system and your representation on a inquiry/board.

You may not change your current situation. In all likelihood you will get lip service about the same(especially during elections)....but once you reach a critical mass...you will get the message across. Be consistent and objective(in your rallies and publicity coverage) both here and in India. Elect the correct spokesperson/leaders...not irrational ones(which only undermines your cause) as we have noticed here on the board.

Probably, all this has been done before...I just wanted to throw it out there for you to mull about and discuss/add to incase it was not.

Just thoughts...feel free to ignore :)

All the best.

jake3d,

I understand your good intention behind this post. I think, all the whining is during the testing phase of an individual, which is full of frustration, lost hopes etc during the non-employment phase. Once a person gets into some kind of job (as per own skills or otherwise), and sees money flowing in, tearjerking starts vanishing. It is all about dollar game. And then some people have to find another excuse to be unhappy!

Regards.

I strongly agree with both the contributors.

As suggested by the \"thinking one\", the minute the person gets a job in his field, his mind will be on it and he would stop whining. The logical extension of this would be he would have no time for surfing sites like CD and making his posts on the same.

Eg: Tammudu, until he was in Canada I think he had about 1000 posts in CD. The minute he got his H1B and went to US, there has been no posts by him on CD.

It's all a Dollar Game!

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....

"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"

Found this..

This part is interesting.

International trade in services

In 1998, the service sector accounted for about 73% of total employment in Canada, over 10 million jobs, and over two thirds of our GDP. In 1999, services represented about 12% of our total exports, almost $100 billion, approximately half of which coming from Ontario. The two primary categories of trade in services are tourism and commercial services. Commercial services represent about 50% of the services trade. The largest area of commercial services trade is insurance, followed by an "other" category including construction, equipment rentals, advertising, cultural and recreational and other sectors. Third largest is architecture, engineering, real estate, medical and dental labs, education and training, etc. Fourth is communications, postal and telecom, followed by management services
