For the past few days I'm noticing religious figures getting displayed on "Picture of Day ". Though I've nothing against it, I feel that it would be more appropriate for the "Picture of Day " to only have pictures dealing with people and places. We can see these religious figures anytime anywhere and there's nothing special in getting them on "Picture of Day ". My 2 cents.

We may put them up on say Diwali or Ganesh Chaturthi , Navratri etc. However on other days we need to put up something more creative, informative and happenning.

I was under the impression that only photos taken by members can be uploaded there, but ppl are uploading all sort of photos dowloaded from the net, this practice should be stopped. Ppl should be allowed to upload only phtos taken by them.

Blue Lobster(whatever happened to the dude?) had sometime last year actually advised the same person to refrain from posting religious pix from the net on pic of the day.

Thanks guys for pointing this out.

I will improve the code to filter the pictures so that we have only appropriate pictures as pictures of day.

The suggestion to have festival / religion based pictures on the appropriate day is excellent and I will improve the code to do so.
