Hello All,
I am posting this query here as it concerns Canadian citizenship.
If a Canadian citizen is currently living and working in India (say) and he/she finds a good career opportunity in the US, then how difficult is it for the person to travel/relocate to the US to take up this opportunity?
I believe the person will have to apply for TN visa to work in the US. Would this be a difficult thing to do in this situation?
It seems like for US immigration purposes, there might be possible issues like the residence address is outside Canada etc.?
Please share your views/opinions/experiences if any in this regard.

Thanks for your comments.
Sorry I did not make myself clear about the first question. What I wanted to know was how would the US immigration officers view this situation? Since every case is different and there never is guarantee that the US immigration will not create trouble for South Asians.

As long as you have an US employer willing to support you with relevant TN application documents and as long as the documents are non-frivolous and satisfies the requirements of the TN classification, you should be ok. Where you currently live is immaterial for the job or TN status.

For Canadian:
TN is not a visa so can't be taken in advance. its a Status.
For Mexicans:
Its a visa and require to get it in advance.

So, is the TN permit "a visa" that can only be stamped at the port of entry in the US?
