Dear Sir/ Madam,
I am a Permanent Resident of Canada from past 1.5 yrs, working as a Technical Analyst with a IT company. I met a very special person who lives in California, LA and is a green card holder. We fell in love and now wanna get married. It was later we realized that he cannot sponsor me, and like it would take us 3-5 yrs to be together if I have to live with him in USA.
He will be eligible to sponsor for his citizenship in Aug-Sep 2004.
My questions:-
1. When he applies for his citizenship, can he apply for my paper work too, as a spouse or does he have to wait until he becomes a citizen.?
2. I have 5 yrs multiple entry US visa, if I decided to come and live with him in USA for a period of 1 yr or more , will the US Immigration object this. Are they gonna let me stay for that long?
3. Later once he gets his citizenship, we will then legally get married and he can apply for my paper work too.
In the meantime , I plan to visit canada on a regular basis as I also want to keep my Canadian Residency too.
Please help us. How do we approach this issue.
Thanks.

You should consult a US Immigration Lawyer. I do not wish to give advice on USA laws.
Good luck!
