actually i am mother of 18yr old baby son. and apr card holder of canada.i want to sponsor him but sponsor can't be done from pakistan. so i have decided to go back to canada and sponsor my son (it is the toughest decision of my life).
but can anyone tell me how long will it take ?
plus do u think i should apply for a visit visa?
or shall i go there and sponsor him first and then apply for visit visa?
so confused and really depressed asi can't see in my sons eyes. and really hardened my heart for his future.

Yes, you are right. You will have to come to Canada and then apply for your son's sponsorship from within Canada. The Mississauga Office will complete the process within thirty days. Then the papers are sent to Pakistan for the due processing. It involves medical and payment of fees. (Negligible amount) Then getting the baby's Passport stamped for the entry. If and when it gets completed, you will have to travel and bring the baby back to Canada with you.
Please make sure that you do get a written permission from the other half for the travel and settlement here in Canada.
The time taken could be six months??!! or More.(except Havana and Lima.) Please see other posts on this subject matter. They will not issue a visit visa just for the baby, while the papers are in progress.
I know it is heart breaking, to part or separate from a baby and leave for an indefinite period. But the Immigration system has been cruel in many ways for which they have not found a solution. I have seen a lot of cases here on this CD and if you search and find another or a similar case, please PM them and see if they can give you the time frames that they encountered. (They have not returned to tell us or give us with the time frame.)
Get everything ready, the immigration forms, pictures and find the location where they have to be submitted to, etc., before you leave Pakistan. Prepare well and be thorough in your submission. That should avoid delays and speed up things.

PS- Is it better option (in such case) that baby is born in Canada, to avoid all hassels. S(he) will automatically Canadian citizen. Information on this will help others in similar situation(s).

one last question sir if i apply for a visit visa from pakistan before leaving for canada can i do so? (i know chances are few) but being a mother i want to take the chance can u advice sir .
plus i have seen the form actually i am unable to sponsor my husband right now because he is in serving Pakistan army and cannot have dual nationalities. so i want to apply only for my son.
my question is do i need photographs and proves of my marriage too + i was thinking to go for medical and police verification of my husband before leaving do u think it's allowed to sent the medicals etc.

I am assuming you are asking if you can apply visitor visa for your child. As freddie pointed out, they may deny the visitor visa when the PR process for your child is in process. However, no harm trying by explaining the situation.
In my son's case, it took about 2 to 3 months (from the date of mailing the application) for PR approval. But then, my son was born in the US, processed through the Cdn consulate in the US (after processing at Mississsauga) and was in 2006.
