I have a court trial next week for overspeeding so basically demerits points .. now I need expert opinio urgent as I called few lawyers and all of them are charging $300 +tax... this is me first ticket so I have no idea about my options.. is it worth to pay this amount?? if a lawyer manages to elimiate the tickets complelely then it will not affect insurance? still it will affect insurance?
I THANK ALL FRIENDS IN ADVANCE.
I am not a lawyer.I got one couple of months ago, went to apply for trial in Toronto.
They said I have an option to plead guilty the same day & they reduce the fine & no demerit points. We have to plead before judge.Paid fine.
If the police officer doesn't turnup, no need to pay fine,no points lost.
They may ask you before sending to judge if want to plead guilty they will reduce fine & no points lost.

If you were really speeding, then I do not think lawyers would do anything (other than taking $$ from you). Try to find out if there is any traffic school option available. Also, I know that in some states in the US (e.g. CA), you can plead guilty and request the judge to reduce the ticket amount. (I am not sure if this is available in your place, but just thought of sharing with you.)

Do not pay that amount to lawyers.
I suggest you go to a paralegal who charges $130 per case. They take it up front.
One I would suggest you is Mr.Arshad Khan at 647 272 6175 and he is located at 8500 Torbram Road, Unit #42,Brampton, Ontario, L6T5C6.
My friend received a ticket last year and in the first hearing the issue was not resolved. The case thrown at the trial and there was no fine/no points.
This way there will be no effect on your insurance rate.
I strongly suggest that you go through a paralegal, be frank about the actual incidence and do not cover it up. In this way he will find a way out legally.
The cost of your fine will be the same as paying the paralegal and he will be able to save the fine and also the points.
I gaurantee that your case will be dropped and you will not pay the fine or get the points on your insurance.
