I have been using magicjack for over a year and a half now and i am absulutely happy with the service. Yes, you need to leave your computer turned on all the times, but now a days our computers are on 24/7 anyways.

Their website above says you get Canadian number for $60/year. Has any one tried it ?
I just got a notification from Rogers that the home phone bill will be going up by another 10%.

I have been using the nettalk for almost 3 months. I got it for $ 99US/Life time fee + $ 20 for shipping. Got the US tel number and use it for the US and Canada.
For the home tel- I switched from Rogers to Freephoneline.ca. ( Most of the Canadian cities are free but not US). Bought my own ATA from Dell and ordered config file for $ 50 + $ 20 to transfer my old number, so now I have my 7 year old number and no more monthly bills from Rogers. For the total cost of around $ 160, now my phoneline is free for life !
Magic jack works very well only when my Rogers Firewall is shut down.
This becomes a security risk on a home network.
Thus, I use it only on one of my stand alone PCs.
