The scandal reminds me of the type prevalent in India.

I had high regard for Stephen Harper and Conservative party. However, they are defending this drug addict Jaffer. Makes me really sick. May be they are trying to protect these unsavoury characters because they do not want to lose Muslim votes. Stephen Harper should not get votes of any person believing in rule of law. Most disgusting behaviour by Conservatives. Reminds me of Kangress culture of India.

In Toronto, former associates of Gillani speculate that Jaffer has “rolled over” on Gillani, provided evidence, and in return was given a good deal on his drug, speeding and drunk driving charges.


I think it is this deal....choosing between the 2 evils, this deal seems a good choice.

I am little skeptical. This is usual subterfuge (again reminds me of Kangress / CPM style which Harper is now learning) . Unless I see Gillani being convicted, I would not believe and you also should not. Jaffer is a known cheat (Google for more info) and his wife is from a very strong Canadian political family and hence this drug addict has been let off the hook. Shame on Harper who claims that he wants to be tough on crime.

Now his wife resigns. b'cos of his scandel.
She just bought a 800K house in Ottawa without any down payment and now she will pay her mortgage with her reduced salary.
