try "reading out" in a normal conversation mode, a good newspaper article or a good book and record yourself using a mobile phone or any other device so you can find out for yourself how you sound to others and what particular words you need to improve upon, find those words on online dictionaries and the way they are pronounced (in an American or Canadian accent) and learn and try to converse with people in English preferably who are native speakers, watching TV helps but not to a great extent till you practice speaking yourself.
Another very important thing, if you need to improve your spoken language start "thinking" in that language so you are not lost in translation while speaking, we all tend to "think" in our mother tongue ( Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil or whatever), try to get out of that habit.

bad example ... tut tut .... Accent can change with time and usage , color cannot unless you wish to exemplify MJ ..
