Is the canadian accent similar to US accent or way different? Would like to know just out of curiosity.

Depends where in the US you are.

The Southern US ie/ Texas has a distinct accent. Eastern US (ie/New York) I have heard distinct accents. California area..again distinct.

For some reason..canadians all seem to have the same accent..though I cant say for sure about Eastern Canadians. :D

Yes they do. Generally speaking, the accents are quite similar (if you factor out the southern US accent).

But there are some subtle differences. Canadians pronouce about as "aboot" (although they won't admit it). Another example, most americans will pronounce the "pro" in project as "praw", while canadians pronounce it as "pro" (like in "professional";).
Some other minor ones, but there are way more similarities than differences.

Did I mention Canadians never admit calling about "aboot"? :p

And of course they say "kent" here, what're you talking about? I've never heard a canadian say CAN'T unless they drive a mini-cooper and think they're hip acting all British...

How about scottish accent? It's in vogue here. Lot of movies / advertisements use scottish accent. I kind of like it. It definitely sounds better than US accent. Don't you guys agree?
