Can't begin to understand the stress the families must be facing, specially the family of the 33rd miner. That capsue is so tiny. It is difficult to imagine a grown man squeezing into that. And travelling up so many meters in that narrow capsule... my prayers with all of them.

I am watching it. BBC is carrying it live in India. Incredible I must say. So far two r out. The first guy was so calm. There are two paramedics down in the mine. The president of Chile himself is there. The operation is so systematic and disciplined. Miners are assigned the order in which they have to go up. Between test cricket and this, I am flipping the channels.

No offence, Indians need to learn from this operation. What if a situation like this happens in India? It may be like this:

1. The miners would have faught each other to get into the capsule first. In that fight they wuold have broken it.
2. There would be a religion issue, caste issue while getting the people out.
3. Opporistion will take the street blaming the ruling party for the disaster.
4. The mining firm would bribe the netas and babus heavily and washed off their hands for the resuce operation.

There could be more. But the four is enough!

Why? I thought Indians showed great conduct and character during the Tsunami, helping where help was needed, no?

I think as people, they do great. When the crooks in the Govt get involved, everything falls apart.
