I would say, 'home is where the heart is'. You have just one life, and if going back to India is what makes you happy.... just go for it....Remember....nothing can buy you what happiness and peace of mind can.

Since you have asked views then ----
I will say---having spent yrs out of india in gulf -we tried many times to go back to settle down but in less than two months we come back to this place. After living a comfortable life it is difficult to adjust with stressful life back home.Crowd/buses/traffice etc....
Also,Whenever I visit India- I fall sick in a weeks time as well as my kids either URTI or GI disturbances.....because of pollution.
And i guess Canada is much better place if u talk abt human rights and democracy.
I know two families from UK and Norway they tried their best to settle down in India but after one year they left --completely gave up !!
I love my country India-but----still it has to improve in many things----
In India--System of working at all level [govt/pvt]will disappoint you....thts for sure.
All the best anyways

I am new
Not to disappoint you, but here goes MY views and a true story. One of my room-mate in 2006 had undergone the same feeling and told me he wanted to do something for his country (India) rather than living here (economy was still hot back then). Needless to say, he wanted to leave Canada forever and settled down where he had spent 29 years of his life, i.e. India. It made sense entirely. The way he used to get emotional was understandable and to some extent I too felt the same way about going back to India back then. But, I stayed. Thought about being emotional and practical are two sides of the coin.
Being gutsy, this guy wound up his luggage and sailed off to India with a happy face.
After about 6 months, I got a knock at my door (Yes, the same house). Found out my room-mate was standing there smiling. I was astonished as to why he was there back in Canada. Thus, he narrated how he couldn't cope up the dust, govt. curruption, public transport, traffic woes, etc. While he was in India, he constantly kept thinking about the clean system and ease of life in Canada.
End of story. He came back with a broken heart.
