Hi Vancouver CDs,
Since I am relocating to Vancouver sometime soon, I am hoping to get some advice on where to rent a condo / apartment.
My office / workplace is going to be at 176A St, Surrey, BC. I was looking to have the following conveniences in the prospective rental –
1. Less travel time to work. Max. 15 mins. travel by car.
2. Decent public schooling nearby.
3. Indian groceries in the vicinity.
4. Parks / green areas in the vicinity.
5. Served by public transport.
6. Family / safe neighbourhood.
If there are any Vancouver citizens on this board, I look forward to your responses / advice.
Thanks in advance!!!
First, please edit your post and remove the exact address. In this day and age of internet based theft and scams, it might not be wise to put your exact location on the internet.
Secondly, You will be working in the Cloverdale area of Surrey. If it were me, I would not rent/buy in the immediate area around your office. Look for rentals in Clayton heights, panorama heights (both are approx 15 minutes away).
Decent public schooling: Clayton heights is good, Langley is good but an extra 10 -30 minutes for your commute (depending where you live-its a bit city). Not as many Indians live in langley/clayton, but there are a few.
Its only a 20-35 minute commute(depending on traffic) to get to the indian business areas of Surrey. Having said that, there is a fruiticana (indian grocery store) at 184th and 64th, approximately 5-10 minutes from your office.
there are parks everywhere.
Public transport is hard to advise without know where you are finding housing. It is quite prevelant however.
Please PM me if you have any more specific enquiries. I live very near to your area.

Thanks Morning_rain for a prompt & a useful / helpful response.
I acknowledge the mistake of posting the exact address, now it has been edited. Thanks for that too.
I'll PM you if any further guidance is required (I am sure I will ... sometime soon).
Thanks again!
