Hi..just wanted an opinion from our CD architects/engineers. Is it worth all the money to get registered in the CACB and obtain a license ?Will that help to secure a job in an architectural firm and how long would the whole procedure take?.I passed my architecture from Mumbai university and would like to know if that is at par with Canadian standards to be considered for registration.
Also, as an option I plan to do a course in web designing(something that Ive been very interested to do for a long time ) once we land there in June. What would my job prospects be then?.Would very much appreciate if friends on CD could throw some light on the above. Thnks.

It is very bad.
It is a catch 22 sitaution. To obtain a licence you need to be employed and no one will employ you since you donot have cdn. experience.
There have been very few people who have broken the barrier but then they had some special qualities (like money, good looks, talent, right network etc.) to break those barriers.
In general, no one will hire you with Indian qualification. getting a license may take 3-4 years at the min. once you find an architectural job. Even then no one will give you employment as you are desi. the recession has worsened that.
Regarding web designing course, I am sure that there are a lot of people already with talent here.
the only thing I see here is that being in Testing (software) may be a better , cheaper and more rewarding option.
Good luck.
L&P (Love and Peace)
