I live in Oakville but can vouch for Burlington.. Nice , clean locality with hardly any crime and good schools.. I am also an ex-USA H-1B and the area compares with any good community in the USA..Mostly white , but have seen a few desis (mostly sardars) in the area..

If you need a more desi atmosphere, Mississauga is about a 20-25 minute drive and you can have your dinner there every day if you want
