Agree, waste of time and energy. An unwanted affair for unwanted people, oops, Monarchs - who cares! India should be the last nation to even telecast it live. British are the reason for the major post-colonial and post-independence disputes in India, primarily being Kashmir and Pakistan. I wouldn't and didn't give this wedding an iota of attention. Time is ripe for Canada to come out of this Monarchy. Head of State - huh....

I read this statement somewhere and liked it very much so thought to reproduce it for those who are cherishing for the 'royal' wedding.

"Our ancesters sacrified their lives (in fight against the british rule in India) for the freedom of their kids and now we 'their kids' are cherishing their weddings."

Indeed, here's hoping for a Canadian republic in my lifetime! The system of someone being head of state simply by virtue of being born into the correct family makes no sense and should have been left in the 15th century where it belongs.

Sure, part of the reason GW Bush became U.S. president was because he was born into the correct family. However, at least he was elected, so the people have no one to blame but themselves.

Some "traditions," are meant to be abandoned.
