Hi, I wanted to get an idea about the job prospects IT professionals in Canada, especially Toronto and GTA. I am working in this field and wanted to know that for professionals working in technologies such java, oracle, unix, performance engineering etc. how are the chances of getting good jobs here. I have worked for 4 years in USA and 3 years in India and currently working in Canada on a work permit for a US company. Any inputs will help me decide where to settle down finally.

I live in Brampton and don't find IT guys very frequently, as was the case in Chicago USA. So was wondering if there are good prospects for software guys here.

IT jobs here are not as many as in US still it depends on a profile and ability during interview to get job fast. Your prospect will be higher than other bcs you have US-canada experience.

You seems to be very confident that country which will give you job will also give you permanant residence. :-) I have my doubt on that part !!
