Hi All,
Most of my Business Expense receipts are begining to fade and I am using Neat software to scan them for my records.
My question is - Will Canada Revenue Agency be ok with the scanned copies if they need to verify them in the future ? or will they insist on seeing the originals ?
Please advise
Thanks

AFAIK, it is acceptable by CRA if nothing has been tempered with the documents and it is a standard practice by the business. See this http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pub/tp/ic78-10r5/ic78-10r5-10e.html#P56_8624
Can you please let me know which software you are using? Does it scan and organize documents automatically? Or is it a simple scanner for scanning the documents.
Most reciept printers these days are thermal printers, which means no ink cartriges used and therefore when recipts stay in light for long period they tend to white out...
Just a piece of advice.. keep the receipts in dark places where light can't get in.
