question for 10 Years multiple visa for parents.....

Hello CD's

I am planning to apply for my parents for multiple visa in next couple of months. i heard in News that now Canada also give for 10 years open visa. is it true? or that is only for business people only.

I already applied for my parents for PR in March-2008 and till date no reply from CIC......last year they visited us and gone back before six months visa finished, so i am thinking for multiple visa for them this time so atleast they can stay with us.

suppose this time if they got multiple visa than how many months they can stay in Canada? i.e. after finished first six months still can they stay in canada or i have to extend their visa time here again with CIC?

little bit confused about above situation....

your expert advice are always appreciated.

Duration of stay remains same as mentioned on visa ( max 06 months ) ..
If you want them to stay longer than you have to apply for extension with a valid reason while they are here .

Your parents can get 10 years visa .... make sure their passports are valid for that duration.

You can always extend their stay when they are here .... no problem. Usually each extension gives you around 6 months of stay. However, it would be a good idea to extend only once each time.

parents are going to renew their passport this month and after receiving new passport we are going to apply for multiple visa so atleast no problem for validity issue of Passports.

Make sure u mention in the invitation letter that u want a 10 year multiple entry visitors visa..

I wrote 5 years my parents got 5.. afterwards i heard people could get 10 year visas as well

Hi,
does everybody has to go for medical for paraent's visa? I am aplying for single entry visa for 3 months for my paraent ( more then 70 years old). does they need medical?
