I am currently working on completing my PhD in US. I have already finished my final PhD defense but decided not to graduate till december so that I have time to find a job (I have fellowship at my current university till december).
Now I got a postdoc offer from a good university/professor in Canada. But my final goal is to find an industry job in US, so if I cannot get a job till december and decide to join the canada postdoc for 1-2 yrs, what do you think of my chances to come back to industry jobs in US after postdoc in canada compared to doing postdoc in US?
Can I apply for canada work permit visa before officially completing my PhD in US and start working in the canada lab before december? My fellowship at US university does not require me to stay in school till december as long I finish all my requirements for graduation.
Thank you in advance!!
Hi
I think you should try for the job first in US/Canada and also try to get postdoc in US.
I dont know about your offer in Canada, but may be you can get more in US as a postdoc than in Canada.
If you are not getting job or postdoc in US then you should join Postdoc in Canada.
I am doing postdoc in Canada.
