Hi All,

Hope someone could bring some insight into my very confused state of mind. We are from India and we live in the UK (British Citizen), we've been here for more than 12 years. As much as I love the UK, we've got itchy foot and looking at immigrating to Canada?

Reasons to Consider;

My husband is a UK trained Family Practitioner. We've been in touch with health match BC and jobs for UK trained family practitioners are abundant. We like BC and thinking of Vancouver and surrounds.

We have been to BC and Alberta and loved the place. We love the outdoorsy lifestyle. Snow doesn't bother us as we all enjoy skiing.

UK economy is gloomy, crime levels are high, and I want my children to grow up in a place where its safe.

We sometimes feel like we don't belong in UK? Don't know why! but we do have some lovely friends here and we integrate quite well.

We are thinking of renting our house in the UK for 2 years and if we don't like Canada we can come back?

Can someone enlighten me what kind of lifestyle can I expect from Canada? Is it worth the trouble? Or should we stay in the UK and just holiday in Canada as we do...Please advise. I'd like to hear any opinions of Indians who lived in both countries and how do you compare the both. Any information or advise would be valuable.

Thanks.

Please do tell me which airport you are going to land. If you see

a guy from the welcome wagon with a Garland, it is me. Sorry to

see the U.K. Economy in the dumps. It is currently in sync with

the EURO. For how long?? Seven and a half more years to go.

You see a black and white flower on the top left hand corner,

it is called TRILLIUM and it is the Floral emblem of Ontario. This

website belongs to Ontario. When you search their website you

come up with these facts and figures and please take a few

seconds to ponder over these figures and if your head

is still in a state of confusion, go see a doctor. Not the big guy,

but another one. He will clear your head very quickly. It could

be just the "London Fog".

Some times the adventurous mood takes over in us. I don't know

about the blood flow in you both and the kids too. I am sure

you both will enjoy the life here. Friends are easy to make and

memories you create are yours to carry. You will have no regrets.

I wish I had a similar problem. Just this one.

Good Luck, to you both where ever you land.

Dhana Laxmi will follow you everywhere. Hang on to the biglug.

Happy Diwali and welcome to Canada.

FH.

P.S. For itchy foot we get "GOLD BOND POWDER" here in Canada.

and foot scratchers with long extended handles, they are buck and

a quarter each, currently, plus HST of 12%. It is 5 and 7 in B.C.

"bump" what? I will give you Bump and Grind. Look for the music

from David Lee Roth, Van Halen, Beach Boys... Mmmmm. Want More?

Here is more...

Tyrese- Sweet Lady
Joe - I wanna know
Ginuine - So anxious
Ginuine - Differences
Omarion - Touch
J. Holiday - Suffocate
J. Holiday - Bed
Marques Houston - Naked
Avant - Makin Good Love
Avant - Read your Mind

There was a poster who asked the same question as yours and there was 2 pages of discussion. Please use search in the charcha and the key words "UK" to get the thread.
Some suggest browsing redflagdeals.com or britishexpats.com.

Please go to Canada soonest and start paying taxes to the Govt. of Canada, so that Canadian healthcare can be improved.
Peace

Thanks Fullhouse for the delightful post. Happy Diwali to you too. I've never been to Ontario, what is it like living in BC Vs Ontario? Pro's and Con's. My heart is set on Vancouver BC, its beautiful, but property prices are so high, I think its the price to pay for living in such a beautiful city.

Hazzybuzz,

Property prices in Toronto have caught up to Vancouver lately. Was there 6 months ago and was astonished and dissapointed to experience it first hand. I had a plan to move out East due to the expensive Real Estate here in Vancouver. But, when I visited and checked it out - I didn't find any real difference.

There was a time a couple of years ago when GTA still had affordable Semi/Detached houses. Not anymore.
