I called Roof expert and he quoted $395 for repairs so, am going ahead with it since my lawyers told me it will cost me $3000 if I go to small claim court and I feel it is not worth it.

I have to thank Para legal lawyer Rama who was kind enough to explain that, it is going to be costly affair to go to court and the roof repair cost wl not be much.

Thanks again for all the help. I am only thankful that, repairs cost are not much.

When the roof expert guys come around, ask them if the damage is caused by humans or animals. They should be able to tell you.

You need not to hire a lawyer or paralegal for small claim court case - if you have a clear cut case. You need to serve a notice to another party first and pay a fee of around $ 50 to small claim court. Roof repair comes cheap in Canada is the moral of the story. For Rs. 21,000 you were able to repair a roof with a hole. In India it will cost more than Rs. 50,000 as roofs here are in concrete.
