Agreed Fido with your statement, when it comes to IT, Royal Bank hire people from India on work permit instead of hiring same Indians who are here on immigration. Employers are driving this illegal practice as declared by Ontario Human Rights Commission recently due to mounting pressure on them.

You have no idea what you are taking about? you are comparing 1% succeeding to 99% failing through the cracks? which does not carry any rational.

Or its the other way round.
Probably you are surrounded by some false belief. Just because a couple of people succeed, doesn't mean everyone of professional/highly skilled immigrant has achieved success.

Again, success has different meaning for different people. Every person has a different benchmark of success. For some its
- making enough money to meed daily living expenses
- buying a house & being a house owner
- getting a job where you skills/qualities are recognized
- being able to make sure that kids pursue highly qualitative skills (not just college degree's which lands a person only meagre jobs)..
etc.etc.

Again I would say, for a qualified professional new immigrant, not allowing him/her to enter their profession is basically demoralizing & degrading his personal human being. This is whats leads to stress, high blood pressure, depression, etc.
In several cases while they are slogging in odd jobs, their families are either already divorced/ or separated/ or at a point of separation/ or are living together as if they are already separated, etc.
I can go on & on, but the point is excluding IT (where India has an edge over the world) rest all profession has seen exploitation of professionals.

What the hack is going on? What do you want from Canadian Govt? Do you expect when a new immigrant “Qualified Professional from Timbuktu University” arrives at Pearson Airport, govt should provide a limousine ride to a five star hotel with all expenses paid till Govt provides him/her an equivalent or higher position he/she was holding in Timbuktu? Give me a break. Canadian Govt is doing more than enough by providing an opportunity to settle in this country and share the infrastructure and resources with safe and better living environment. Don’t give me the b/s argument that Canadians also need new immigrants for fill up the labor market shortage. If you won’t come, others are waiting in queue so don’t cry and leave this country ASAP.

I am sure that those so called “Qualified Professional from Timbuktu”, if don’t have any previous travel history to west world, if apply for a simple visit visa to any other developed country from Timbuktu, would be most possibly rejected right away. Just think about it – when most of the western countries are not allowing you to step on their soil even for a short term visit, the Canadian Govt is providing you an opportunity to stay, work and live a good quality life and still these obligated people keep on crying. Please don’t rot this beautiful country with your efforts/ideas of providing “Special treatment” to the “Qualified Professionals of Timbuktu”. It smells like the caste based reservation system to me.

Finally, if you think that this country is not providing job opportunity to you, please give up your Canadian PR/citizenship and return to your ghetto back. You have not obliged this country by coming here but the other way around.

I am sorry for my rude words but truth could be unpleasant some times.

Opposing views are bound to appear. Simply stating that someone has no idea just because you disagree hurts your credibility. And please don't quote statistics to rebutt me since we all know statistics can be manipulated if needed.

Once again, as I have stated before, I don't disagree there are problems when it comes to employability of immigrants; however, there are always two sides to any story and I like to weigh in on the other side as well.

Well said Delhite!! This is a beautiful country and its saddens me to see how its getting destroyed. The lovely suburbs I grew up in are now ethnic gethos and ruined!! My parents too came and had to re train but they dint complain and once retained got good jobs and wee lived the nice middle calls life!1 people just want to come in and have red carpets rolled out for them and if that doesn’t happen then this place is unfair, bad, racist etc!!
You think the states or Australia is any better!! They don’t even have half the services that Canada offers for new immigrants!! If people complain they way they do here in Australia, Aussies will simply say “ get the F&*K out of my country” and I know as I’ve lived there and yes so btw way I have a masters degree from there and had no issues getting a job once I came back home to Canada!!
Chalres Darwin said “ Survival of the fittest” so learn and adopt the traditions and ways of your new country, if you don’t like or want to then why did you come here in the first place??
