I am a refugee claimant, and my passport is expiring in two months. I have another file under CEC with my wife as a major applicant, that is in process. immigration wants me to renew my passport for the further processing of our CEC case. But I checked on Indian consulate site that they donot renew refugee's passport. I am calling Vancouver office and all other offices every day for hors and hours but nobody even answered the phone. what shud I do to renew my passport?? do I have to go to Vancouver or Ottawa office in person?? please help me..

India will not issue passports to refugee claimants.
You'll have to explain that to CIC and find a workaround.

Any REFUGEE Clainant will have a lawyer to represent him/her. Take your PP and drop it on his desk with a filled application and ask him to get it renewed. THEY WILL NOT RENEW IT. But, if and when you succeed in your claim, he will get a work around at that time and will obtain a court order stating that you are no longer a Refugee and now a PR here, which will enable the Lawyer to get it done through the legal channels in a smoother way, than you can ever get it done. He knows how.
DO keep a few copies of all the pages for your files, before you give him.
