How so dude?

I am a Gents and not a Ladies.
ok Rubbish was decent word..total BS
So next sixty years now it is OC's turn to get reservation because last 60 years their last generation suffered??? Lets say now you are enjoying good life there..good money..I am sure you would not hesitate a moment for your children to get the benefits of reservations because your so called ancestor's suffred a lot? So howsoever filthy rich but incompetent one is he/she still wants to be a doctor?
Almost all of so called backward classes were at some period of time in Indian history either the ruling class of India or prosperous(muslims, Jats, Yadavs etc). And there was no targeted discrimination by society as a whole. Being poor is no more an excuse as it would be for the person from so called FC/OC category.
SC/ST did have sustained discrimination for periods extending for millennia. So around 10-15 percent seats could be reserved for them subject to same vigour at examinations as others.
Unfortunately, even after getting quotas they are not able to pass their exams and need to have their pass marks reduced to clear the program.
Then there are ridiculous cases of MBBS doctors of SC/ST getting zeros in certain state entrance exams and still getting seats. http://www.deccanherald.com/content/261395/zero-entrance-tests-no-hurdle.html
Even in SC/ST category, the creamy layers get the benefits for multi-generations, thus killing the spirit of the policy.
An ailing V.P. Singh, the grand dragon of reservations, was being boycotted by many prominent FC doctors because of his past policies. He then would go to Germany for his treatment and get German technicians to India to plug and unplug the equipment for his treatment!
Reservation policy is kind of like corruption. It is an additional tax that over-burdens an already struggling and demoralised OC. If you are an OC male, you are screwed even further.
The lesson from all of this in the context of this thread is that don't put all your eggs in one basket and invest your efforts, money and piece of mind in one jurisdiction. Have mobility and the ability to vote with your feet.
Try and get best of both worlds. Education-experience in Canada and dhanda/retirement in India.
Thanks very much to bhootnath, febpreet, elmer fudd, MKBLR, Rajgopal, Delhite and others who have given a patient reading to our genuine grievance.
You have all said it far better and clear, but in much fewer words.
