Still for IT occupations, which is more broad I don't think there should be a hardcore requirement for an Engg. degree. Employers are aware of it, and so should the authorities. However, as seen with Canadian immigration, the situation is not ideal. What the Government and Employers/Companies want are different.
I am still not sold on this, vis-a-vis IT. Other fields, yes agree, there should be requirement to match the job offer with the education stream.

They do not insist on the engineering degrees - they have a very specific list of occupations and the corresponding requirements.
Back in the day IBM used to hire programmers at entry level based on aptitude measures and their background education didn't matter. Most were non-engineers. This was when people actually had long careers with companies they worked for.
Thanks Everyone.Let me try again.

So what does one do when the education and the experience are in different areas ?
Say (BSC+MBA) or ( BCom + MCom) and working as a CSA for say 8-10 years ?
Since the degree is written & can't be changed , is it better for the person to apply as a Management Consultant and redraw his experience plus job offer to meet the category ?
Or should he continue with his qualifications and job experience of Systems Analyst and apply under CSA ?
Which of the above 2 has more chance of approval ?
