Ever heard about this old adage? In Rome do as Romans do.
Follow this, and you'll be fine.
Last week, I witnessed first hand the racist comments by 2, 8-9 years old Canadian born Desi kids directed towards an English boy of the same age. The latter's mother heard it and gave a good thrashing (for all the right reasons) to these so-called 'oppressed' and 'discriminated' immigrants' kids.
Don't worry about the mainstream. You need to save yourself from your own here. Trust me on that.
Mademoiselle !.
Based on your posts I suggest that you and your kids stay away from Toronto during the annual Gay Pride week/parade or from Caribana parade.
Your kids will get a shock on the way the people dress and gyrate on the streets.
If you land from ME / ISIS country it will TOO MUCH TOO SOON !.

In a discrimination case we need a majority and a minority.
Please tell me who is the majority and who are the minority here ?.

Anti-immigration flyers targeting Sikhs have appeared in Brampton mailboxes again. But the group responsible for delivering a similar flyer this April denies responsibility.
Niranjan Singh was “frustrated” to find the sheet in the mailbox on his quiet, leafy, residential street near downtown Brampton this week.
The one-page flyer has a picture of a Sikh man in a blue turban with a red cross through it and the words “Say ‘NO’ to the Massive Third World Invasion of Canada!”
Singh, who has lived in the neighbourhood since 1997 with his family, is Sikh and immigrated to Canada from the Fiji islands.
“This is racial discrimination and it is trying to divide people,” he said of the flyer. “This is the land of immigrants.”
The flyer also has a photo of a multicultural group of people walking on a busy street and claims “government policy” has “ruined the country.”
Peel Regional Police confirmed they are aware of the most recent flyer and called it “harmful and hurtful.” Const. George Tudos said police are “going to look into it as people come forward,” but that the flyer probably does not meet the definition of hate speech.
Singh’s son, Amandeep Singh, 37, does not live at the house but visits nearly every day with his wife and young daughter.
“I think this is very disgusting,” he said after looking at the flyer for the first time Thursday evening.
“I have been here since I was 10. I work here. I’ve studied here. I pay my taxes.”
Amandeep Singh said he’s “never seen anything like this before” in the neighbourhood.
Doug McLeod, who lives nearby, said he was “shocked and appalled” to discover the flyer in his mailbox and has talked to a handful of his neighbours who also received it, on James and Wellington Sts.
He says the flyer is not representative of the area or the multicultural Brampton that he’s been proud to raise his family in.
“I’m very pleased that my daughters could be raised in the kind of environment where people didn’t think about colour, they thought about friendships,” he told the Star.
“So this flyer is not typical of Brampton.”
At the bottom of the flyer is the name of an organization called Immigration Watch Canada. It’s the same organization that acknowledged being behind anti-immigrant flyers handed out on Wellington St. in Brampton in April. They showed a photo of a group of white people beside a photo of a group of protesting Sikhs with the words “from this … to this.”
Reached by phone from B.C., spokesperson Dan Murray said the group is not responsible for new the flyer.
“It’s not ours. We never authorized that,” he said.
Murray’s group produces flyers with titles such as “Unnecessary Immigration is Destroying Canada.”
He says they have plans to continue distributing fliers in Brampton in the future “to make the point that becoming a minority in your own city or your own country should be a major issue.”
In May, after investigating the previous flyer, which Immigration Watch acknowledged they had distributed, and consulting with the Peel Crown Attorney’s Office, Peel Police announced that it was not hate speech.
“Obviously they [were] considered racist and offensive but they [didn’t] cross that legal line into hate crime, and that’s determined by the Supreme Court of Canada,” he said.

@Gurram, rightly said people with staunch religious beliefs are coming to Canada. I lived in CapeBreton for close to 4 yrs and liked it very much. For job I had to migrate to Toronto and found a different face of Canada which confused me a lot.
