Vajpayee deserves it. I don't much abt Malaviya. He died in 1946 I believe. So why now and late? May be his grand / great grand kids receive the award for him.

Vajpayee stood up against Indira Gandhi. He was the one who started building highways in the country.

Malaviya receives the Award 68 years after his death. If I am right he was the Founder of BHU.

Regarding Vajpayee, the English News Media has now accepted his eligibility. In 1999 when BJP/NDA became the single largest party with more than 200 seats the ENM went to print/air saying that BJP cannot stake its claim because they were "communal" and especially Vajpayee because he was ''RSS man''. The ENM ''selected'' either Jyoti Basu with less than 50 communist MPs or I.K.Gujaral probably with no MPs will be PM because they were ''secular''.

Now the same ENM is going ga ga over how great PM Vajpayee was just to belittle Modi and today's BJP.

As far as the title is concerned, after Sachin Tendulkar having become BR, not bothered if any one else is given or not given.
