Fido, try online as well. Since I have access to US retailers, I've always purchased from Advance Auto Parts, which can be delivered to an address or picked up from stores.

I've bought front bumper and tail light assemblies from Amazon.

Thanks for the tips FH & D2K+1 :) .. FH ~ I shall re read all these carefully.

As is turning out this thread would be a learning material for other CDs also as much to me.

Why I was thinking of a walk in store other than an online , I might need to return some items back as I planned to purchase the rotors also (in case a replacement is needed ) in which case I was afraid of a cumbersome return procedure ...

BTW ~ Just to share .. I had once brought some under fender part from a retailer near Steeles and Islington and when I went back to return some parts , he charged me 40% re stocking fee ... I learned my lesson for checking the return policy beforehand ...

I would look into if some online retailer provides a possibility of an in store return ... I think Advanced Auto Parts is here in Canada as well .

Nothing to worry much about a (small) brake job.

Just get it from your prefered vendor and get on with it.

It does not really matter from whom you get it. Brakes generally does not fail without notice. There is a grinding sound for more than 1.5 months before it fails (been there, done it).

Just see the cost and do it. If you are driving to the USA ,you can also do it there (might be a little cheaper considering that USD had gone up. You will not get like 50% savings like before)

Update :

Got the Wagner ceramic brake pads installed yesterday including the abutment kit which came with it (though the mechanic advised against it ) - no squealing or noise ... the braking is smooth.

Checked at an RFD thread that Wagner ceramic pads are good .

Got them for $30/- + $20/- Amazon expedited shipping through the deals link above provided by FH .

$50/- for the installation .. I am done in $100/-

Thanks all for all your advice . Hope this can help other prospective readers also.
