Chandresh ,
( I know you have stated your experience as much as I have )
I was stating per my own experience wherein I had clarified before landing for 2 weeks in year X that if I landed in X+3 , I could provide the goods to follow list then ..... Come to think of it , how can one forecast what he will be bringing 3 years hence .
Even when I landed in X+3 , somehow I could not get anyone to submit the goods to follow list @ the Airport and calling CBSA later , was directed to one of their office on Bay St. where not only the Officer recorded and acknowledge the list with a stamp but also remarked ' You are welcome to submit the goods to follow list with in a reasonable time of your landing and we encourage people to do so '
At times of delivery , I went with the stamped goods to follow list to collect my cargo and yes - unless the goods are valuable , its not worth paying the transportation cost even by sea.
It seems we had different experiences .

Fido.
Strictly replying to the subject - how much weight you can carry depends on you.. (just kidding) .
Like most posters replied above:
Your checked in baggage restrictions are applied by the carrier and your ticket class - check with them. The customs in Canada does not bother how much you bring in at the time of landing (or later in your goods to follow list) as long as it is declared.
Is this your first landing? Do you intend to stay or return back?
Good luck.
Hiren
I immigrated 2 months ago. Booked Jet Airways & it had a connecting flight (Air Canada) from London. Below is the baggage allowance per person:
2 separate baggage - 23 KG each
1 Cabin luggage - 7 KG
Don't bring unnecessary crap with you. Just bring your personal belongings. You get almost everything you get in India over here for the same price or cheaper.
Thanks everyone..
Hi all
I am moving to canada with my husband and my daughter. Do we need to fill the B4 form(list of goods carrying) separately for all three of us or a single form for the family will do ?
