All of us don't get a vacation long enough to see most or all of Canada by road. So, everyone splits their travel itinerary and does the travel to suit their vacation. Plus you want to have a days break to prepare to get back to work after the trip. So your idea of seeing it by bits is a good one.
Here is my take.: These RV's are a DRAG. They all are GAZ Guzzlers. 10 to a Gallon or Eleven at the most, unless it is one that gives you 32 to 40/gallon, like a BUG, I am not for the roads. Plus you have to pay for Camping, unless you are going to park at Walmart Parking, which they allow. Nothing is cheap. The cost of Gas, then the Mileage, they do throw in a few miles per day, and you also lug a ton of water, a water hose and a big one from the HONEY tank, a set of jacks plus your own tool kit and etc., etc., will make you wonder why did I ever think of a shitty trip like this.? And if the hoses gives out, you will be deep into it. I want to ask you, have you EVER BEEN SHOT WITH YOUR OWN S**t? You haven't seen nothing yet!
Next. : If you have not driven one for a few days, prior to hitting the road, just for the real feel, then FORGET IT. These light RV's wobble a lot and the wind shear is too much and you will find that they move diagonally at times. Your front end going straight and your assend in the next lane, just a small part of it, makes you wonder what a crooked looking driver you are. They don't talk about the RV, it looks sheik, it is you that they blame. And you know why it is doing it too. It has two tires way up front and the other two way back, thirty feet behind and a few feet over the line into the next lane. Also if you cannot see through the rear window of the buggie, you will have to see through the two side mirrors sticking out on the left and the right side like the Canadarm. And you will wish it was another foot longer. In some they stuck it two feet up in the air and over your head and if you are not used to it, all of a sudden you will ask yourself, it was right there a few minutes ago and who stole it? Then it will dawn on you it is two feet up in the air. It will be a fun trip just to try it once and get a feel for it. But work out the dollar cost per day before you start and keep a good accounting and a running log to double check and then do an arm chair review after the return. Then see the spread sheet. I am not too far from the truth with my own report. BTDT.
Alternately Drive your own car and rent a room where ever you end the day. Pre book if you can plan your trip meticulously and keep up the schedules. That will be what I want to do from now on.
And if you are a Vegetarian, then, get videos and watch them on a 72 inch wide screen TV and enjoy the ARMCHAIR TRAVEL. Now they even sell perfumed mist and New Foundland Fog in a spary can and even California smog that you can spray to create your 'ambience'. It is unreal. But things are improving slowly for them also. I am waiting to see the Dosa Huts on the highway, pretty soon.
I am waiting for the release of the GOOGLE buggy, driver-less chauffeur free one way ride and if you are romantic, smooch all the way back home, just get dark tinted glass for the back seat passenger windows. I have seen the extended sausages on the highways and I wondered about them.
Am I of much help to you? Any way.... tell us all about it..
Bon Voyage.
FH.

FH has given u good advice... its always good to know pros and cons
RV can be lot of fun as well.. we rented big RV for week... mostly visited Detroit, cleveland, toledo, South Bend, Chicago... it was lot of fun..
But V hv two families, it was comfortable for two families... 3 drivers... V only parked twice in whole week...
So if u get good company it's lot of fun.. alone can be boring
