Hello ,
I am planning to visit Canada in September 2005 for three weeks and plan to use Discovery pass to travel extensively. Grey hound Website suggest it can be used for VIA rail on Toronto Ottawa - Montreal sector. Has any one used it (discovery pass on above sector) how is the experience?
I plan to use discovery pas for travel from
Toronto- Niagara- Toronto ,
Toronto - Calgary –Toronto,
Calgary – Vancouver- Calgary. Is traveling by Grey hound comfortable, are these long journeys advisable.( I plan to travel with my wife and three year old son ) .
Can some one suggest other mode of travel?
I have not driven in north America
Thanks for you input
Greyhound travel is very comfortable and safe in Canada. But the buses are airconditioned , windows cannot be opened. It can get VERY stuffy and the restroom starts to stink up the bus after a while! Travelling with a very young kid is a problem on Greyhound because of long waits. I'd suggest you combine air travel + greyhound.
Suggested trip...
1. Toronto-Ottawa-Montreal by Greyhound.
2. Montreal to Calgary by Westjet
3. Calgary - Banff and Rockies tour by Brewster transportation.
4. Banff - Vancouver by Greyhound. Vancouver-Victoria-Vancouver by Pacific Coach lines.
5. Vancouver to Toronto by Westjet.
