89 cuts to this movie by censor board. Word Punjab in the title is said to be objectionable and is asked to be cut. Who exactly wants this to be removed ? Wonder why censor board will have such an objection particularly when there are movie like mother India, Go Goa Gone ( movie on drugs and killer zombies), Bombay to Goa, Bombay, Delhi Belly etc. This for sure is political issue!!

The real reason is AAP is in hand in glove with this Movie. Or else it should now have come at this time. It is not hidden from any one that Mr. Bhatt and many in Film industry are against present Govt. And there are rumors that Kejriwal approved it before sending to even Censor. The aggression of these people to release the movie is symbolic of their match fixing with AAP.
BJP is certainly influencing the censor board time and again to its interests.
I recall that some times last year the whole censor board had resigned to protest the go ahead of a movie by a Govt Tribunal which had been disapproved by the Censor Board .
Pahlaj Nihlani current chairman censor board has accepted that he is a stooge on NaMo.... and hence so many cuts to this movie...
But interestingly I had not heard much about the movie , but with the controversy it has got wings.

Slow claps to you, Sir. May be, the raise that you didn't get at your workplace is also attributed to AAP and Kejriwal. But, last I checked, Kejriwal is not the head of Censor board, neither does he have any authority on any movie's release. Who is he to approve or disapprove the movie, except publishing his personal views/reviews on his Twitter handle - just like you or I do form time to time. Can you for one single moment come out of the glut of AAP; and address the original issue? It's good to be obsessed with them, and do it as much as you can.
Yes, AAP is also playing politics with that and the Producer Anurag Kashyap asked them to keep at bay and shut-up. But, is it AAP that is holding this movie's release and using scissors on these words: Punjab, MP, MLA, etc.? No.
The real issue is with Punjab Govt. in alliance with BJP that doesn't want this movie to come out, especially due to the impending elections. The whole drug mafia that is funding Badals - which the whole of Punjab is well aware of. You don't need to go afar to obtain some knowledge on this. Just ask abundant Punjabis in Brampton or GTA and you will get the answers as to who in Punjab being hand in gloves with the drug mafia, why the Punjab's youth is in deep shit over drugs; also why the menace hasn't been stopped for the past few years since the Badal Govt. has been in power. May be, try a few publications that originate from Punjab to know what prevails; and how it impacts this movie's cuts by the censor Chief Nihalani, who has openly remarked about being a stooge to BJP and Modi. What gives?
It's unfortunate that a good and well intentional movie that is trying to showcase the issue at ground is facing the flak from the Political masters. While at the same time, plenty of stupid, crass, vulgar ones are being passed without any issues.
Another aspect is the silence of the lambs, Bollywood's bigwigs - AB, Khans, Johars, etc. It is high time the Bollywood industry as a whole set their priorities straight. Today, it's them, tomorrow could be you AB and Khans. But, we all know they, especially AB are as political as to not touch the movie on any of their Twitter handles.

I think this film should be banned completely as it is now become a political punching bag. Mr Anurag has turned this into a political battle. If he had problems with the decision of the Censor board there are laid down procedures to deal with such issues. Mr Anurag has deliberately made a big public issue so as to gain publicity. No matter how big the producer / director he maybe he has to follow laid down rules. Further proof of Mr Anurags mischievous intentions are exposed by his bringing in Mr Modi and Mr Jaitely into equation. This is further evident by the vocal support of Congress and AAP in favour of Mr Anurag.Then Mr Anurag states that he does not want political parties to interfere HA HA that's a big joke. If one analyses the saga from the beginning Mr Anurag is playing a mischievous political game under the guise of freedom of expression and art.

But, then BJP is different than Congress.
What happened last year when NaMo and Jaitley and the Govt. over rode the censor's mandate to no release a movie and when the superseding Tribunal gave a go ahead to the movie against the censor board's decision and the whole censor board resigned and then BJP placed its stooges .
Not sure about the movie but it appears that BJP feels somewhat threatened ?
Anurag Kashyap is an acclaimed movie maker and I love watching his movies ... Do you ?
