oops, just saw question 2 sorry...

prescription drugs dispensed outside hospitals and auxillary care facilities are not covered by the canada health act... to get refunds on money spent to get prescription drugs, you need supplemental coverage... most provinces have some form of drug benifit coverage for lower income families that caps the maximum you have to pay in order to get medication, but you must actively be participating in the program to be eligible for the benifits... it is not retroactive unfortunately...

if you are filing a paper return then yes, you need to attach medical expense receipts (excluding what you spent on supplementary coverage... dont attach those invoices, but keep them with you in case you get audited)...

obvious to say, you should keep copies of everything...
