Ability to communicate effectively is the key. So I will suggest that one should have very good command over english, both written and verbal, before landing here.

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
I thank everybody for their valuble piece of advice / information. My special thanks to Bhishma who words are really encouraging. The irony is, there are many success stories but,we keep hearing about negative feedbacks on the net.
Anyway, I don't, I will reverse my decision at this stage. Let me go ahead about my plans and move to Canada. I am quite mentally prepared to take up odd jobs in the early days and only hope that, I will manage to get one as soon as possible.
Being quite adventrous, my purpose is not just to make money. But to have whole new experience and make way for wider oppurtunities for my family and the closer ones. Let me give it a try and see myself how it works.
Well, as far as my place in India is concerened, I am from Bangalore and not from Andhra. Rao is quite common in Karnataka also.
Thanks for my Andhra friends who responded to my queries.
You still have few month before landing in Toronto. Focus on gathering information about your industry sector and contacts in Canada. Internet and Libraries are great sources of such info.
Don't resign to the fact that you will have to do odd jobs initially. Better your advance research and planning, less likely you will need odd job. You don't need to start applying jobs until you land but start collecting information before you land about companies and appropriate contacts in those companies.
I don't believe there is \"Marketing Engineer\" title in Canada. You may want to do some research on job sites to see what are equivalent job titles for similar roles in Canada. It may be Pre-sales Technical Consultant, Technical Sales Engineer, Product Marketing Manager or something else.
Marketing roles are tough to get for Indians due to their image of \"poor soft skills\" but they are not impossible to find.

Hi Rao,
We wish you all the very best. Its a prosperous land, where many who have the ability and and drive (and some luck too!) have suceeded. After all, at your age, such decisions and the drive to achieve something only separate the MEN from the Boys!!

Can I ask you a question sir?
Being quite adventurous, how many places have you visited in India? How many times have you gone for boating in TheGanges from Uttarkashi to Haridwar? How many nights have you lived alone in the jungles of North East? Have you ever tried covering the whole India on a bicycle with Rs. 100 in your pocket?
If you are not coming to Canada for making money, then is it for better life including 24 hrs. electricity, water, good roads, 6 months of snow etc..etc..? Do you really think that you can not get all those in Garden City Bangalore except snow?
And if you are coming to Canada for making money, then do not ask questions. Be focussed on your goal of achieving 'so called success' and wider opportunities for the family and CLOSER ONES. You can not open the doors for your closer ones if you do not make enough money in Canada.
