Folks, my parents are here on a vistor visa and we would like to extend their stay past the 6 months that they've been permitted. My question is, for what purpose would the Canadian government be willing to extend their visa. Ex helping to take care of kids or just want to stay longer. What reason should we avoid.
Further if they are granted an extension are airlines (ex Air Canada) willing to extend the validity of the return tickets past 6 months. If not my parents would need to get a new ticket. I will check with the airline on this aswell.
thanx

First extension is easy. Just to spend more time or visit more of Canada should be valid reasons.

I also want to ask few specfic questions with respect to extension of stay for my parents.
1) if at all me/my husband have to fill out the Statutory Declaration form (does it apply to us?).
2) Does my dad have to list all the family members in personal information Part B. or just his spouse name will go in that part. Not other members of the family who are in Canada like myself/my brother etc.
3) Question 11 wrt to Supporting myself in canada. Well is it okey if he says that he would be receiving support from Relative i.e daughter/son. Or he has to show some money?
4) Would it have any detrimental effect on his sponership application that i have put In 2006 with the way CIC offices are working in processing the application it is highly unlikely they would get their Permenant resident untill 2009.
Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions.
