Info on Canadian Passport!!!!
Dear Canadaindesi,

Thanks for this great site.
Can a person apply for passport on the day of his oath?
Once he has his citizenship papers and the citizenship card?
How long will it take to get the passport?
Can we apply in person and get the passport in person?

Your advice will be appricated.

As long as you have Citizenship card you can apply next minute after taking oath

The passport office will prepare the passport for you one the same day if you are able to show them proof of travel and convince them with your reason for urgency. There is an extra charge ranging between $30 to $70 for urgent service.

One of my friends got it the same day of oath. He asked someone else to queue up at passport office, while he was taking his oath, and then rushed to the passport office to get the passport same evening. He then flew to USA the same night!

What documents are needed for the passport? What are the proof they needed for (proof of travel and convince them with your reason for urgency. If i've to travel to India/US they need my flight ticket?
