Today is first day of Winter. I remember my friend was shocked when he saw 21 December as a "Winter Begins" in calendar first time. After seeing lots of snow on the ground and with -25 degree in December, the winter just starts now!!
So November-December are trailers and real show is still to come!
Local people here have some ways to guess how the winter is going to be. They observe the migration of birds and the timings of migration. Some have methods to know it by growth of hairs of their dogs. They also notice the movement of ants and the things they collect. (All these was told to me by a gora..)
Now we don't know any of that, let us just guess - how this Winter is going to be?
My guess is we will see good snow during January, but February will be much better and except for some Windy days March, April would be much better than last year.

I heard in the news that the Farmers' Almanac is predicting a severe winter this year.
It was in the news in October, I think.
They also said that all the travel agents are peeing in their collective pants because there is a big rush for vacations to warmer destinations, like the Carribean, Mexico, South America and the Meditteranean.

On the radio, I heard that we're going to have some erratic weather this winter - days of extreme cold followed almost immediately by far milder days.....will wait and watch.
Looking to the end of this week, does appear that we will have a white Christmas....
I'm betting on a white Xmas and a mild winter to top it

I predict a VERY mild winter this year, just like I did last year.
I can bet on a white christmas though.
