Hello,
This is my first post and i am very very new to this forum.
I am unmarried and i am planning to move to toronto in march 1st week.
I got my landing papers in the month of nov 2004.
My parents are telling me to take CAD $ 10,000 in the form of DD from SBI and i am also planning to take around CAD $ 700 and US $ 400 in cash.
Is there any problem to carry morethan CAD $ 10000.
I have heard that we have to fill up a separate form if we carry the amount more than CAD $ 10000.
Please advice me what i have to do and what the immigration people will ask me in india and in canada
What are the documents i have to carry, few ppl are telling me to carry PCC and income tax clearance etc.
I have submitted my original PCC to CHC, now i don't have the pcc and i even don't have the tax clearance, since i am not tax payer.
Please help me and please spare some time for me and do post the reply.
I am very much worried, what are the questions and documents, they are going to ask me at canada by immigration authorities.
PLease dvice, what i have do ?

There is nothing to worry about carrying $ 10,000 CAD.
The Immigration agents that you would have to go thru are very helpful. I would suggest you declare everything that you carry (Finance) , in your case .... as an immgrant .... go by the book and you'll be fine.
I am sure you were given a pamphlet or a guide to Canada for Immigrants by the Canadian High Comission ..... go thru that before you take off from India .... and go by that manual...... You'll be fine .....
One good thing about this country is .... it is user friendly .... anything and everything you need to know ... the info is readily available and Govt. Offices here to help you out .... all you need to do is ask !!!!
Once you arrive here ... keep in touch thru this site .... there would be a lot of info and guidence you'll need after you arrive in Canada ....
Oh Yes ...... Best of Luck and Wellcome to Canada.
