This reminds me of what i read about Ray Kroc(Mc donalds founder) who sold his first franchise to Betty Agate. Apparently Krocs secretary asked Betty " whats a jewish lady doing selling catholic bibles?" Bettys reply Making a living.:D
Kroc thought that anyone courageous enough to do what Betty was doing would be a prime candidate for his franchises. He supposedly reasoned that people who had the courage to be judged solely on their performance(especially cold-calling sales people) was difficult to find and capable of running his franchise.

As others have said , I also really really dont have any issue with VJ.
The question was defining success in terms of the Job he landed.

I hope he follows Ray Croc in spirit Only

Because , we have enough burger places and if VJ opens another one,. I will have to rethink my first sentence. Just kidding of course.

I did not think VJ had any questions about the definition and what it meant for him. I do not think he tried to shove his definition of success down anyone elses throats either.

Can we say the same? :D

Hi VJ,
I admire your positive enthusiasm . But boy after earning 50k+ per month in India you have landed with 10 dollar per hour job. My best wishes with you. I guess you have to keep the tempo/be extra strong for next couple of years until you complete some Canadian degree course. Your experience should make people think tens times before coming to Canada.
I myself will look closely as how are you faring. Meanwhile waiting for form 16 get in April /may before applying for hsmp

Hi,

I understand your concerns but now there is no looking back. I have learnt one thing about CANADA and i.e. USE YOUR MOST IMPORTANT TREASURE/TOOL CALLED "TONGUE" effectively.

(BETTER BE AWAY FROM SOMETHING WHICH CREATES NON-PRODUCTIVE DEBATES) - Sorry deleted

Regards,

VJ.

The matter is stuck for the credit history

What has credit history got to do with a job offer? Are you sure they want "credit history"?

So It does not matter to me what people say about such jobs.

No one has said anything about "such" jobs. There is nothing wrong with any job. It was only a matter of the impression that your OP generated, an impression that was wrong and exagerrated.

All the best in your future endeavours.

For jobs in the 'financial industry' they do want to know the 'credit history' of the candidate to make sure there is nothing derogatory as the candidate would be dealing with the financial information, negotiable instruments, securities, documents and other personal information of the clients, if hired. Moreover, they would like to see if the candidate is 'bondable' (trust worty with financial matters) or not.

Just my observation as I am in the same industry.
