Hi everybody,

I'm a new member and planning to land in June. I have already read about the people discussing the problems in getting jobs in canada. I thought that as an alternative, one can try to start a new business rather than going to the employers and begging for jobs. Now I know this is not an original thought and many people who are there must have considered this option at some point of time and must be knowing better about the advantages and disadvantages of having own business or being self employed in the current market scenario. So would really appreciate if those people can share their views and experiences.
I obviously refer to people like us who don't have lot of money but something like CAD20k for initail investment and small businesses could be like a retail outlet, a small restaurant/grocery, or a franchise business.

20K kyoon? Even if u being in red u can become successful.

Apun knowing one the Gujju. He was CA, but not finding correct job idhar, and was in red, so he claiming, when he starting outsourcing book-keeping/accountancy to India from Canadian companies. Now he is having the 8 staff here and about 100 in India and making solid dough, yaar. All from 2001 to now, boss.

So capital fapital go goli maro, determinism aur himmat hai to sab kuch hai.

Also other the person, he is doing the medical tourism bznz and rolling in moolah. Also starting with the zero capital.

If u r knowing contacts for call centre in the India, coming here and putting Canadian companies in touch and making moolah.

Bahut sare ideas hai, apun ne anda se good paisa making from investments, but with help of financial advisor and of course apun to champ (chump?) hai macro-eco mein.

Lakin apun working also and self-employed also- killing the two birds with the ek stone.

Arey Stone funds looking good yaan what, TK, Pramod, Reachash?

Stone is listed in the TSE under SG-UN (income trust) and it has been giving consistant dividends or payout. I still need to do further research. Theysay it is 100% Canadian owned co.. All the more why i would hate it.
TK
Side note (added) : Why i said i hate 100% Canadian owned is b'cos they canot see beyond borders of Canada and hence there can be no real growth. Right now , any mutual fund invested in China, india , korea does very well.

TK,

I wonder what you need to be able to come out of this useless life you are leading here (there must be some situation which is not controllable by you and so you continue to live such a pitiful life) ..............May be I can help you leave this place as you would like to - and I will be doing a good deed by making someone happy!
