You are not in Canada yet, right? So, let me try and explain what I was trying to say. There are some types of jobs here that are not at all difficult to get and telemarketing is one them. They usually pay close to minimum wage and sometimes also have commission. Just like getting a job that involves only labour, these are not the jobs that someone means when he says that he has been "successful". Get it?

I am guessing its a telemarketing or direct door to door thing. I know Primerica is basically like amway. People wil catch hold of you anywhere they can and tell you how great it would be if you had a chat with them regarding finances.

You dont even have to apply for such a job. Post your resume on Monster for all to see and you will get a response from the folks at the marketing/finance companies telling you that they have the job in "your area". Once you call them ........thats when you know its something else.

However let me mention here that people who have spent more then 5/10 years in SALES/Mktg, these jobs are quite easy to get (Not a big deal). I always knew from my survey and feel about canada that \\\"THIS COUNTRY IS ALL ABOUT PRESENTING YOURSELF\\\". I firmly believe now and my confidance has increased from my own experience that if you can communicate well, you would surely survive and at a long run settle.

I wonder why everybody is assuming that its Primerica? AFAIK Primerica doesn't give any base salary.. its 100% commission based.

VJ said he had base+commission which means its not Primerica..

Sales jobs may be easy to get.. but even those are hard to find in a matter of days.. I think VJ did well to land himself in a job that he likes.. and is more like what he was doing in India..
