VJ, I happen to think that you have done a fantastic job. IMHO, it is a bit unusual to land a job so quickly and therefore some questions are legit. However I also noticed the stinging factor that some questions reflect and you're doing the right thing ignoring them. If nothing, this kinda stuff sets you up for the North American workplace .
I wish you all the best for the future!

I coolely replied "MAY BE THAT WAS FOR INDIAN JOBS NOT FOR CANADIAN". "EVERY END HAS A BEGINING AND YOUR COMPANY CAN BUY EXPERTISE IN A VERY CHEAP RATE".
-----------------------------------------------------------
I dont get it. especially the first part.
THEY SAID, ""Ï AM TOO EXPERIENCED, NOW IF THAT WAS THE REASON FOR NOT TAKING ME, THEN IN CANADA I WAS MATCHING THEIR REQUIREMENT, i.e. NOT MUCH or NO experience.
So what is the Job, i.e company, type of work? ITS A SALES JOB.
Is it the same field of work that you were doing inIndia?
YES SELLING FINANCIAL SERVICES
What were you in India?
I WAS WORKING WITH A PRIVATE INSURANCE COMPANY AT A SENIOR POSITION.
Also Did you get your SIN number , I am not sure But can one start working without a SIN number?
EVEN I WAS NOT SURE BUT THEY ACCEPTED THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT LETTER GIVEN BY HRDC.
I remember I also got a LOt of sweets and snacks from India and all the sweets were not allowed in.
I WAS FORTUNATE TO GET ALL THEM INSIDE. THEY DID NOT EVEN OPENED OR ASKED ANYTHING.
What did you say to the immigration officer?
WHEN HE DID NOT ASK ANYTHING, WHY SHOULD I TELL HIM ?
BTW, you might want to change your location.
YES SIRRRRRRR, THANKS FOR REMINDING ME THAT...

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
Congrats VJ
Seems u've done an excellent job and if ur satisfied and happy with ur new job... Thats great...i'm happy for u.
Foremost, i'm not from ur field of work, so excuse my ignorance here , but i do have some questions (because looks like u've worked in a senior position before) :
1) I presume, ur on Salary + Comission. Are you on-par with the current Canadian salary standards in ur field of work? RU happy with what ur getting (in terms of salary and quality of work) ?
2) RU still looking for other job offers (NOW)?
3) When did u apply for that position?
4) Did they offfer u this position at-the-spot in ur first interview?
5) Did u negotiate ur salary? Or took what was offered ? Did they ask you what you expect?
6) Whats the probation period?
I'm sure u agree that getting a job is one thing, and getting a job that pays u well (or as per stds) is another. Job satisfaction comes later. Personally, i had declined the first two offers i had got , but then my situations were different.
I think some questions are a bit personal here, and hopefully
a) i'm not offending u, and
b) u will understand my questions...
U may decline to answer if u feel so...

I just hope this is not something like PRIMERICA for debt planning and consolidation

We will find a way or we will make one
Somehow, it is difficult to believe you VJ!! Is this the usual Indian exageration or what?? I have benn here a long time and I have seen enough qualified Indians with connections here and good communication skills struggle. I find you hard to beleive. No offence meant though!!
