I got my safety inspection from Canadian Tire and they gave me a big bill for repairs. Is there a reliable desi mechanic who is close to Malton area?

I appreciate your help.

why don't you go the the car dealer for the car you own . They are not always "cheats" ..

Safety is for you selling the car or buying it?
There is one workshop in rexdale area called Avtar Auto Garage
He is very reasonable.

Well they give big bills so that they can give more money to the persons who do the job. If they charged lower, they would give less to the worker and so there would be no charm for so many of us to come to Canada. And if you say you do not come here for the charm of the money - you are wrong - because of this (more money), you get taxed higher and therefor you get better infrastructure.

Usually, a mechanic who charges less will cut corners. I would rather go to a mechanic who charges as much as the dealers, but gives more sincere advice and repairs to the extent needed.

Sounds to me that the poster is talking about a safety inspection required as part of importing a car into Canada.
If so, you can't go to just anybody you choose - there is a list of shops that are authorised to conduct the inspection and you can go only there.

And yes, Canadian Tire is one of them

I also got ripped off by CT when I imported my car.
Since then I am advising all my friends importing cars NOT to go to Canadian Tire.

They did rip me off hundreds of $$$, but as a consolation, I must have denied them several hundreds more by warning my friends not to go to CT.

I wish I had someone to tell me to stay away from CT before I moved

Anyhow, my views on Canadian Tire are well known here (search previous messages).

I thought cdn tires are the only ones to whom you can go to for doing "fedral inspection" .

Most of the other garages do "provincial inspection"
