If you mean inspection for importing a vehicle - the one required by RIV - then there are a few other shops too that you can go to.
It is true that all CT locations are authorised to conduct the Federal inspection and issue certificates.

But there are a few others that you can go to - listed on the form that they give you as part of the import paperwork (also available on the RIV website).

Hi Guys.I imported my Maxima Car from US and i just got my Federal Inspection and emission test done successfully with avtar auto.spent $155 total which includes daytime lights installation in my car.
first i went to canadian tire.they wanted to charge $178 for labor and $58 for the part and emission test charge and safety inspection charge seperate...they would have ripped me if would have got it done with canadian tire.thank god..i would suggest Avtar Auto Service located at 1266 Martin Grove Road,Toronto,ON M9W4X3.
I am 100% satisified with their service.Hope this helps newcomers.
